As Governor and Patron of Moni Plus NCDC Vipers I want to inform the PNGNRLC Board that the NCDC Bord has made an undertaking to declare the historical Sir Hubert Murray Stadium (SHMS) to be the home ground for Vipers and PNG Rugby Union.

NCDC under my leadership has been the consistent naming right sponsor for Vipers for more than a decade. Unfortunately for one reason or another we have not in these years enjoyed the participation rights to host home games. For this season going forward the Commission has invested a lot to complete the SHMS so Vipers can host its home games.

This is our historical stadium where PNG’s independence was declared and it is fitting to bring back life to his facility. I therefore request the PNGNRLC Board to allow the Moni Plus NCDC Vipers to host its home games for this season and onwards. I give my full blessing and undertaking to ensure all requirements and standards are met as expected including the safety and security of all stakeholders.

I acknowledge the PNGNRLC Board’s consideration to accord the Vipers hosting rights for its home games as per the PNGNRLC Participation Agreement. Please do not hesitate to contact my office if you require any further clarification.
